About Jacq's Products

Where are Jacq's products made?

Jacq's was created out of our home in our kitchen. We've expanded and grown since we started formulating and hand-crafting our products to our studio in Dania Beach, FL. All of our products are handmade with organic and natural ingredients in small batches to ensure quality.

Is Jacq's tested on animals?

Ummm..heck no! We are certified cruelty-free, PETA approved and proud of it. We don't believe in testing on animals.

Are you certified organic?

Yes and no. 

Most of our products are 100% organic, but some only “contain organic ingredients.” Please know that we are meticulous and mindful about our ingredients and selection process but not all ingredients grow organically. For example, our Healing Face Cleanser is a liquid castile soap, which contains approximately 80% organic content. Soap contains an alkali as saponifying agent (in this case, potassium hydroxide). A reaction occurs between the oils and the potassium hydroxide resulting in a new substance - liquid soap. Even though none of the potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide remains, the organic content of the final product is 80%.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, we take our certification with PETA very seriously and love our animals, which is why we've made a strong commitment to be cruelty-free. 

The product I purchased is a little darker or lighter than my last batch or bottle, is this normal?

Natural products can vary in scent, color, and to some extent, texture. This is what makes the natural products unique and special. As natural ingredients are crop-based, there are many [natural] factors that can affect the look of a product based on the growing season, the time of year the ingredient was harvested or processed. Products can get darker over time, and the oils may separate – just simply shake to mix. Essential oils are volatile, so this means the oils will evaporate as they release their scent,  and you may also notice a slight change in the blend. This is quite normal.

How long is the shelf life of a handmade soap?

Jacq’s uses only the highest quality natural and organic ingredients in our formulations. We do not use chemical preservatives. Most of our products are made exclusively with naturally stable oils and butters that have a shelf life of a year or longer. We can not guarantee freshness and effectiveness of any products kept after the recommended 8-12 months. All ingredients are made using high quality all natural ingredients and tested, but the shelf life of our products are subject to many factors, including heat, exposure to air, dirt, and handling.

We recommended storing our products in a cool location away from direct sunlight to maintain freshness and effectiveness. Avoid contamination – always use clean, dry hands or a small spoon, especially when touching product in an open container. 

Do I need to do anything different with my new soap?

Our hand-crafted soaps are made using all natural ingredients and are sensitive to extremes in heat. Each soap bar will need to dry out between uses to extend the life of the soap, we suggest using a soap dish with raised teeth to help it dry between uses.

How long does it take for the Jacq’s products to work?

Everyone's skin is different. Typically, a skin cycle is 5-6 weeks, please allow your skin time to detoxify during this time and for best results please increase your water intake and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. 

Can men use Jacq’s products?

Yes, men can you Jacq’s products. All Jacq’s products are formulated for all skin tones and skin types.

Do you have products for stretch marks?

No, as of right now we do not have products for stretch marks.

What would you recommend for combination skin and hyperpigmentation?

I’m curious, and would like to receive free samples of your products?

We understand and happy to know you’re curious about Jacq’s, but we do not offer free samples. However, we do have generous trail sizes of our products available for purchase in our online shop. Click here for the gift sets or click on the size option on each product.

So you've got allergies, we recommend doing a patch test. 

Please be sure to check if you have any known sensitivities to cosmetic ingredients and/or essential oils.

Jacq's uses only high-grade ingredients please read every ingredient on both our packaging and website. Jacq's cannot be held responsible for allergic reactions to our products. Should you have any ingredients questions please feel free to contact a physician.

Place a small amount on the inside of the wrist or inner thigh and look for a reaction. If you see any redness, stop using the product immediately. If no redness is observed, continue. Another thing to be aware of is not using too many different products (like wipes, powder, etc.) from different companies so that you can pinpoint where the reaction is coming from. 

Pregnant or Nursing Women:. Please be sure to check with your physician regarding any oils, extracts, and supplements you use during pregnancy.  There are many all natural essential oils that pregnant or nursing mothers have been recommended to avoid. Please see reference list below of essential oils to avoid.

Babies: Please be sure to check with your pediatrician prior to use. We are not physicians and do not claim to be. Included is a list of essential oils to avoid on infants.

What's up with your packaging?

We use biodegradable and recycled shipping materials. We are big advocates of reusing whenever possible. All of our packagings includes recyclable glass, plastic, paper and refillable containers.

Policies


Will I be charged sales tax? 

Orders shipped and sent within the State of Florida will be charged a 6.5% sales tax.

What’s your return policy? 

If you want to return unopened products, have an error in your order, or your products were damaged during shipment, please send us an email and we’ll help you out. If the product was damaged during shipment, please take a photo to send along with your email.

I'm not pleased with my order, I want a refund.

We understand – not everyone will love every product, even if we do. That’s why we offer sample sizes of most of our products, so you’re able to try something out for a fraction of the cost. We highly recommend getting a sample size of a product if you’re new to our brand, or especially if you’re new to natural skincare in general. Our biggest goal is for you to be happy, though, so if you’re not absolutely thrilled with your product, send us an email and we’ll see what we can do. Please note: shipping costs are nonrefundable and all costs for return shipping are the responsibility of the customer.

How are orders shipped?

We ship all orders via USPS. Please contact us directly if you need to expedite your order or need us to use a specific carrier at info@shopjacqs.com

Your website says you offer free shipping, why am I being charged for shipping?

We do offer free shipping with a minimum purchase of $50.

What about international shipping?

Right now we do ship internationally. Please keep in mind that international shipping is a little pricey. For example, $25 to Canada and $50 everywhere else, and don't forget the customs charges. We're still growing, so if there's a retailer you'd like to see Jacq's products carries at please email hello@shopjacqs.com or you can check our list of stockist.

Can discounts be combined?

No, the discounts can not be combined. Please be advised, All purchases made using any coupon codes are non-refundable. Exchanges are available upon return or alternatively store credit can be processed. Offer Cannot Be Applied to Previous Purchases. JACQ'S Reserves the Right to Modify or Cancel This Promotion at Any Time Without Notice.
