For the last year, everyone’s favorite super-food has been the avocado! You can slice it up on some toast or make a fresh guacamole, but people have been getting more and more creative with how they eat this healthy fruit.  Well, now we’ve got some info how avocados can improve your body (inside and out!).  We want to share some easy ways to utilize avocados to make your skin, hair, and insides happy and healthy!

Let's talk about what makes up avocados for a second. Most people love the high amounts of oleic acid found in these green fruits. Oleic acid has been known to lower the risk of some cancers, speeds up the regeneration of new cells, reduces inflammation, and so much more! They are also a great source of Vitamin E! This means healthier eyes and skin along with a boost to the immune system. Also, the chlorophyll found in avocado is amazing for detoxifying your entire body! Avocado oil gets rid of heavy metals like mercury out of your liver, kidneys, and other vital organs.

The fact that avocados contain all of these ingredients, make it really great for your hair and skin! Vitamin E will make your skin stronger because it is easily absorbed through your epidermis. Avocado oils also aid in the process of wound healing and reduce the risk that your skin will leave nasty scars. In the same way that avocado feeds your skin, it nourishes your hair, which enables it to grow faster! We have a simple DIY hair mask recipe that is sure to make your hair shinier and stronger.

FUN FACT:

The avocado is an Aztec symbol of love and fertility, and they also grow in pairs on trees.

Process:

STEP 1: Blend the avocado and banana until it becomes a smooth mixture. Put these blended ingredients into a large mixing bowl, and then add your tablespoon or so of olive oil/3-4 drops of essential oil. Stir the oils in until they look properly mixed. Lavender is anti-fungal and antibacterial which is great for your hair.

STEP 2: Apply this mask to clean damp hair and massage it into your scalp a bit. Gather your hair on the top of your head and put on a shower cap. Sit with the mask on for about 20 minutes, allowing the mixture to be absorbed by your hair.

STEP 3: Remove the shower cap and rinse out the mask thoroughly then wash and condition your hair as you normally would.

STEP 4: Go bananas and enjoy lustrous and soft hair!
