1. Expired Products
Using old products has it's consequences. Product have a shelf life and when products expire the less effective they are plus, you are at risk of bacterial infection, skin irritation or break outs.
2. Lack of consistency
You can't expect to see results or have clear skin without consistency. Clear glowing skin is the result of a consist and proper skin care regimen. Starting and stopping, then starting and stopping will not render the results you are looking for. In order to see results, you need to allow the products time to work.
3. Not Washing Your Face
No good comes from not washing your face. During the day, your skin accumulate a lot of oxidative stress, in addition, makeup can clog pores which can lead to acne. When you sleep your skin recovers and repairs itself. However, there are other factors like free radicals that can cause long term harm. On a daily basis, our skin absorbs free radicals from the environment when you don't wash your face, the free radicals deteriorate the collagen on the skin over time. Why is collagen so important. Well, collagen is a natural occurring protein found in the body that is essential for healthy skin, nails and hair. So, the point is to just wash your face.
4. Washing Face With Hot Water
Let's be honest here, we've all done it! We're all guilty of jumping in the shower and indulging in a hot warm bath or shower. After a long day, there's nothing like a long hot shower to rinse the day away and unwind. The reality is using hot water is damaging and can lead to capillary damage. It dries out your skin and eats away at skin's natural barrier leaving dry patches, skin sensitives, skin irritation and possibly premature aging. So, stop doing it and opt for luke warm water.
5. Dirty Makeup Brushes and Tools
Forgetting to clean your makeup brushes can lead a happy breeding ground for bacteria. Think cold sores, blackheads, acne, eye infection and maybe even pink eye, yes, pink eye. Just schedule a weekly or bi-weekly reminder on your smartphone as a reminder to clean your makeup brushes. Don't forget to wash your face towels, blankets, pillow cases and clean your cell phone, as well.
6. Wrong Products For Your Skin Type
Using the right products for your skin type is essential to happy skin. Whether you have sensitive skin, dry skin or combination skin your skin need the right ingredients and formulation o probably treat and address your unique skin concern. Using products formulated for combination skin when your skin is dry will not remedy the issues your skin is dealing with and may even make it worse. When shopping for skincare products, be sure to use products formulated for your skin type.
7. Poor Diet
I'm sure you are wondering why you keep breaking out on your forehead, your cheeks, and chin. Let's get straight to it. What you eat effects your skin, periodt! Your bad eating habits is catching up and let's be honest - you know what I'm saying is true. There are tons of research to how food effects your hormones.
If you are lactose intolerant, stop drinking and consuming dairy products. If you are estrogen sensitive, stop eating foods that trigger that allergy. In addition to stress, you may not be drinking enough water (1 cup or 1 water bottle isn't enough), and you also are probably not eating enough fresh fruits and vegetables on a consistent basis. So, continuously eating fried foods, take out, and sugary Starbuck drinks will lead to excessive breakouts, unbalance hormones and visible skin issues.
